On December 13, 2008, Special Olympics New York is proud to be hosting our 2nd Annual Polar Plunge in Lake George, NY! What is a Polar Plunge? A wild, crazy and FUN event to raise awareness and funds for the athletes of Special Olympics New York! Each year, Special Olympics Polar Plunge’s are held throughout the country to attract thousands of chilled souls to engage in a commendable and thrilling fundraising event. Earlier this year, thanks to over 2,000 committed plungers, seven separate Special Olympics New York plunges raised more than $600,000. All funds support our programs and promote awareness of people living with intellectual disabilities in New York. The Lake George Polar Plunge will be an exciting opportunity for hundreds of our heroic plunger’s to join together and be freezn’ for a reason, to show their support and raise funds for Special Olympics New York programs. We are asking the students of Saratoga Central Catholic to get involved! Simply log on to our web site at www.specialolympicsNY.org and click on the Lake George Plunge. From there you can click on the “Register Here” button and join the Saratoga Central Catholic team. Once you join the team you can create your own Personal Plunge Page and send it out to your contacts – all with a few clicks of the mouse! The Lake George Polar Plunge will help raise funds to provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults living with intellectual disabilities. Currently, New York State has the largest Special Olympics program in the country, serving more than 46,000 athletes. This is great way for your company to get involved in your community while encouraging employee moral and camaraderie. We would be grateful to have your presence and support among our hundreds of heroic Lake George plungers, courageous athletes, volunteers and entire community. On behalf of Special Olympics New York, thank you for your continued support of our programs and athletes. Sincerely, We're Freezin' For A Reason It's that time year!
